Our secure credit card vault software, 1stPayVault, keeps all of your credit card processing data and customer information locked away. It allows you to store the information securely on our servers, not yours, making it PCI compliant and impossible to unlock by cyber criminals or hackers.
1stPayVault® is a secure, easy way to store credit card processing information on our servers, not your servers, insuring the data is PCI compliant and fully secured. In combination with our Account Updater product, it also allows for secure updating of credit card information, minimizing your chance of declined transactions.
PCI DSS stands for Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. According to PCIComplianceGuide.org, the PCI DSS “is a set of security standards designed to ensure that ALL companies that accept, process, store or transmit credit card information maintain a secure environment.”
There are 12 levels of PCI compliance, and which one you fall under will depend upon how many credit card transactions you, as a merchant, process each year. The compliance levels are mandated and monitored by the credit card issuers. For example, for Visa and Mastercard, PCI Compliance Level 1 would indicate you process over 6 million Visa and/or Mastercard transactions annually. The varying levels of PCI compliance follow different methods of annual audits to ensure compliance is followed.
Aside from compromising your customer’s personal and financial data, your business could be liable for non-compliance fines. If your area (store or otherwise) has been identified to have been subject to fraud (or the source of Common Point of Purchase), you will be required to participate in an investigation to determine the source of the breach and ensure compliance is met.
